Vietnam Women’s Union strengthens relations with Belarusian and Russian partners

In Belarus, the delegation paid a courtesy visit to Ms. Kochanova Natalya Ivanovna, Chairperson of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus. It also had a meeting with Ms. Pavlyuchenco Natalya Viktorovna, Minister of Labour and Social Protection of the Republic of Belarus; and a bilateral talk with the Belarusian Women's Union (BWU). At the meetings, many topics were discussed including traditional relations between Belarus and Vietnam, women in the two countries, labor, employment, social protection, demographic security, healthy society and patriotism among young people. Particularly, the two women’s unions planned to re-sign the MOU in the coming time. They were also committed to further promoting the role of both organizations in strengthening the friendship and cooperation between the two nations, as well as supporting each other on international platforms.

Responding to reporters from Belarusian national television after the visit, Ms. Ha Thi Nga, VWU President expressed her gratitude for the warm and thoughtful reception. She shared her impressions of Belarus as a beautiful and peaceful country. Ms. Ha Thi Nga believes that with the patriotic and peace-loving traditions of the people and women of both countries, the two Unions will cooperate to promote gender equality and strengthen the friendship between the people and women of the two nations.

On this occasion, the VWU delegation participated in the flower-laying ceremony at the 'Minsk – the Hero City' monument, visited the Belarusian State Museum of the Great Patriotic War History, and attended the premiere of the musical commemorating the 80th anniversary of Belarus' liberation. They also visited the First National Trading House in Minsk which showcases and promotes Belarusian products. Notably, the delegation visited the Medical Equipment Factory and the Baby Food Factory in Nesvizh, learning about the automated production processes and their policies for female workers, such as maternity leave and training for female workers after childbirth, etc.

In Russia, the VWU delegation had a meeting with Ms. Ostanina Nina Alexandrovna, Chairwoman of Committee of the State Duma on Family Protection, Issues of Fatherhood, Motherhood and Childhood, President of the All-Russian Women’s Union - Hope of Russia, at the headquarters of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation. They also met with Ms. Daria Sergeevna Lantratova, Deputy Secretary of the United Russia Party, Senator of the Russian Federation, President of the Union of Russian Women’s Forces. These discussions have deepened the friendship between the women of both countries and opened up new cooperation opportunities in the future.

On September 30, during its working visit to the Russian Federation, the VWU delegation had a meeting and signed a Cooperation Agreement with the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg. Accordingly, both sides will strengthen cooperation by exchanging information and experiences in protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of women for sustainable development; exchange delegations and share experiences; and collaborate in organizing forums, conferences, seminars, discussions, fairs, exhibitions, and cultural exchanges on areas of mutual interest.

This Cooperation Agreement will open up opportunities to enhance cooperation between the two sides, contributing to strengthening the relationship between the two countries.

On the same day, the VWU delegation had a meeting with female leaders of Saint Petersburg at the Legislative Assembly.

During their stay in Russia, the VWU delegation laid flowers at the President Ho Chi Minh Monument in Moscow and Vyborgsky district, Saint Petersburg; visited the President Ho Chi Minh Museum at School 488 and met with the school's leaders and teachers; connected with traditional partners and friends.

In both Russia and Belarus, the delegation spent time visiting and working with the Vietnamese Embassy and meeting with the Vietnamese community and women in the two countries.

It can be said that the VWU delegation's working visit was a great success, gaining valuable experiences from Russia and Belarus, contributing to strengthening the traditional friendship and cooperation between the VWU and the Women's Unions and partners from Russia and Belarus. Additionally, the delegation also understood better the situation of the Vietnamese community and women in both countries, opening up many possibilities for future connections and activities with the community and the women there.
