During the working visit in Russia, VWU’s delegate attended the WIDF Asia-Pacific regional meeting with participation from Vietnam and North Korea and the Steering Committee Meeting. In addition, she also participated in several events organized in Moscow by the host organization, such as the International Conference of women against imperialism, fascism, and the manifestation and rally on the occasion of International Labor Day - 1st May with wide participation of international delegates and the masses from Moscow capital. Speaking at different sessions, the Vietnamese delegate shared information on key achievements gained by the VWU recently, particularly its recommendations for women related policies, for example, extending the maternity leave from 4 to 6 months, giving inputs to the revised Constitution 2013 of Vietnam, as well as its priority activities in 2014 and plan for 2015 on the occasion of 40th anniversary of the national reunification and the 85th anniversary of VWU foundation.
At the solidarity event with countries which was chaired by WIDF in the framework of the SC meeting, on the occasion of 60th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory (7/5/1954-7/5/2014), the VWU Vice President expressed the gratitude to people and women from different countries for their support shown to Vietnam during the struggle for national salvation, called on people and women in the world, especially WIDF members to provide their further support to and keep solidarity with Vietnamese people and women in the cause of protecting the national sovereignty as well as sustainable socio-economic development.
