The Workshop on development of legislative regulations on gender equality in the field of economics.

In order to open the forum for sharing and exchange ideas on policy, law and gender equality practices in the field of economics, and to support the Drafting Law Committee and the working group of Gender Equality Law getting more information, both practical and theoretical for analyzing and building appropriate and feasible regulations for Gender equality, in the field of economics, the Central Vietnam Women’s Union organized the Workshop “Development of legislative regulations on gender equality in field of economics” on the 6th and 7th of June.

Attending the Workshop were Vice-presidents of Vietnam Women’s Union: Madam Nguyen Thi Kim Oanh, Nguyen Thanh Hoa; members of Gender law working group; representatives from Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Trade Promotion Administration, Ministry of Finance, State Bank of Vietnam, NCFAW, the Central Institute of Economic Management Studies and Research, the National Institute of Administration, the Vietnam Cooperative Association and some entrepreneurs.

At the Workshop, reports, discussion papers and comments from participants highlighted the current situation of gender equality in the field of economics and provided some issues that the Gender Equality Law working group should consider when making amendments to Gender Equality Law such as: regulations on tax, retirement age, mechanism for dealing with violations, responsibilities of related agencies to implement regulations relating to gender equality...

The representatives of the Gender Equality Law working group recorded all the comments and confirmed the importance of the information to help the working group and law drafting Committee finalize the regulations on gender equality in the field of economics.
