Tet Fund raising for Agent Orange victims
The VietNam Association for Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin (VAVA) on Jan. 9 called on localities to raise funds for Agent Orange victims to enjoy the upcoming Lunar New Year Festival (Tet).
VAVA also called on its municipal and provincial chapters to continue collecting signatures in support of the lawsuit filed by Vietnamese Agent Orange victims against US chemical firms.
VAVA Deputy President Tran Xuan Thu said that the association will allocate VND650 million to Agent Orange victims on the occasion of Tet, which will fall in late this month.
The sum will be spent on building and upgrading houses, assistance with animal and plant breeding, and medical checks-up for the victims.
