Ms. Tuyen shared that the VWU will celebrate its 95th anniversary in 2025. She pays a high appreciation for the significant support from Cuba, especially Cuban women, to the VWU through its formation and development in implementing the policies and plans entrusted by the Party, State, and Government of Vietnam. On this occasion, President Tuyen also thanked Ambassador and his wife for attending the Áo dài fashion show "The Essence of Việt Nam" held on April 13, 2025. The President emphasized that the designers presenting their products in this show are participants from the "Tailoring, Design, and Ao Dai Entrepreneurship" course organized by the Central VWU. This event not only honored the “Áo dài” as a traditional costume but also served as an encouragement and motivation for Vietnamese women to confidently start their own businesses while preserving the national identity.
In response to the warm sentiments from the VWU, Mr. Rogelio Polanco Fuentes expressed his gratitude to the President for inviting him to participate in the Union's activities. He was deeply impressed by Vietnam and its people, especially the resilience of Vietnamese women, which is clearly reflected through the "Three Responsibilities" Movement and bright examples of the late President of the VWU, Nguyen Thi Dinh, and the late heroine, Vo Thi Thang.
He also highly praised the role of the Vietnam Women's Museum in honoring the contributions of Vietnamese women throughout both historical and modern periods. He thereby proposed organizing exhibitions about Vietnamese and Cuban female heroes, hosting seminars to share experiences on political participation and economic development, and holding events to celebrate “Áo dài”. These activities would further strengthen the close relationship between the women of both countries, especially as Vietnam and Cuba celebrate the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations and the 95th anniversary of the VWU this year.
