President of the Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU) paid tribute to General Khamtay Siphandone at the Lao Embassy in Vietnam

At the Lao Embassy in Vietnam, on behalf of the VWU and its members, as well as women across the country, Ms. Tuyến expressed her deep sorrow over the passing of General Khamtay Siphandone. She extended her most heartfelt condolences to the Party, people of Laos, the Lao Women's Union, the staff at the Lao Embassy, and the family of General Khamtay Siphandone.

In the condolence book, Ms. Tuyến wrote:
"The Vietnam Women's Union and the Vietnamese women express our deepest sorrow upon hearing the news that General Khamtay Siphandone, former President of the Party, former President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, a comrade and great brother of the Party and people of Vietnam, passed away on April 2nd, 2025. The passing of General Khamtay Siphandone is a great loss for the Party, Government, and people of Laos. They have lost a veteran revolutionary leader, an outstanding son of the Lao people, a steadfast revolutionary soldier who dedicated his life to the struggle for national independence, freedom, the happiness of the people, and the prosperous development of the Lao nation. In this moment of grief, on behalf of the Vietnam Women's Union and women across the country, I extend our deepest condolences to the Party, people of Laos, the Lao Women's Union, and the family of General Khamtay Siphandone. We sincerely wish that the soul of General Khamtay Siphandone may rest in eternal peace."
