Photos featuring Hanoi today exhibited

The photo ‘Hoa Trang Nguyen’ (First Doctoral Candidate Flower) of Vu Dung won the only gold medal at the 36th artistic photo contest named ‘Hanoi Today’.

Dung was rewarded VND 5 million for his gold medal.

The prize presentation ceremony and exhibition opening was held o­n October 10 at 29 Hang Bai street, Hanoi.

On display are 98 colour and black and white photos, selected from 743 entries of 165 photographers, not o­nly from Hanoi but also throughout the country.

'Hanoi Grander and More Beautiful' by Duy Tuong, silver medal.



Photographers have provided viewers to a diverse and more in-depth look into the city, with each of the photo being a new artistic view of the simple life, of the ordinary people around the city.

Seventy pictures have been granted awards from the jury. The two silver prizes went to Duy Tuong with “Ha Noi Dang Hoang – To Dep Hon” (Hanoi Grander and More Beautiful) and Pham Cong Thang with “Lang Dao Phu Thuong” (Phu Thuong peach blossom village). Each has received VND 3 million.




Photographers Nguyen Duc Can, Nhu Ngoc and Pham Trung Thanh won the bronze medals, while Hoang Minh, with his “Vo De” (No Title) grasps the special prize. There are also ten consolation prizes.

'Phu Thuong Peach Blossom Village" by Pham Cong Thang, silver medal.


The photo contest is organised to mark the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long – Hanoi and the 52nd liberation of the capital city (10-10-1954 and 10-10-1006).
