International women’s organizations and partners sent letters and messages of condolences on Passing of Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong

Many international women’s organizations and partners sent letters and messages of condolence to the Vietnam Women's Union (VWU) when hearing the news of the Passing of the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Nguyen Phu Trong.

By July 26, 2024, more than 20 VWU international friends and partners sent their letters and messages of condolence or shared on their social network on the passing of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, namely Women's International Democratic Federation (WIDF), ASEAN Confederation of Women's Organizations (ACWO), ACWO Permanent Secretariat, Lao Women's Union, Cambodian Women's Union for Peace and Development, Cuban Women's Union, Socialist Women's Union of Korea, National Women's Federation of China, National Council of Malaysian Women's Organizations (NCWO), National Council of Singapore Women's Organizations (SCWO), National Council of Indonesian Women's Organizations (KOWANI), Japan Federation of Women's Organizations (FUNDAREN), Federation of Women of Greece, Belarusian Women's Union, UN Women, Committee for External Relations of Saint-Petersburg (Russia), President of the International Fund “The Way for Peace” (Russia), Korean Women's Development Institute (KWDI), Hanoi International Women's Club (HIWC), Australian People's Organization for Health, Union Aid Abroad (APHEDA), German Savings Banks International Cooperation Fund (DSIK), etc.

The international women’s organizations and partners expressed their deepest condolences and solidarity with the family of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, the Party, State, people of Vietnam and the VWU. These organizations respectfully appreciated General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong’s devotion to the Fatherland and the people of Viet Nam. He ceaselessly fostered friendship with states, parties and friends all over the world. It is certain that his legacy and contributions to the cause of socialism will remain in history and in the hearts of the world's revolutionaries.

The World President of Women's International Democratic Federation wrote: “To the people and government, to the Communist Party of Viet Nam and to the family of comrade Nguyen Phu Trong, our solidarity.”

The President of the ASEAN Confederation of Women's Organizations (ACWO) and the ACWO Permanent Secretariat affirmed: “It is a great loss on the passing of a resilient leader who fought for the happiness and freedom of the Vietnamese people.”

President of the Lao Women's Union shared: " Throughout his revolutionary life, he devoted all his heart and mind to the cause of national liberation, unification and innovation, leading Vietnam to continuously develop and has greatly contributed to the friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Laos and Vietnam".

President of the Cambodian Women's Association for Peace and Development wrote: “Under the leadership of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, the bilateral relationship, long-term friendship and close cooperation between Cambodia and Vietnam has been consolidated and developed at the highest level.”

The Cuban Women's Union expressed: “He has devoted his entire life to serve the country and people of Vietnam, playing an important role in strengthening brotherly relations and strong solidarity between Vietnam and Cuba based on mutual respect and selfless cooperation in many fields.”

The National Women's Federation of China shared: “We believe that the Vietnamese people will turn pain into strength, inherit the legacy of Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong, and continue to get greater achievements in the cause of reforming, opening up and building socialism.”

Socialist Women's Union of Korea expressed: “We believe that Vietnamese people will overcome this pain of loss and continue to strongly move forward in the struggle to build a strong, prosperous socialist country as President Ho Chi Minh always wished.”

Japan Federation of Women's Organizations (FUNDAREN) “respect comrade Nguyen Phu Trong and his record of achievement.”

Federation of Women of Greece extended the condolences to the “great fighter with a long legacy of struggles and with so exceptional and rich writing work.”

National Council of Singapore Women's Organizations (SCWO) sent “our deepest condolences from SCWO. It is a great loss.”

National Council of Malaysian Women's Organizations (NCWO) sent “our deepest condolences to family, friends and the people of Vietnam on the demise of Nguyen Phu Trong, General Secretary of Communist Party of Vietnam.”

The President of the National Council of Indonesian Women's Organizations (KOWANI) affirmed: “Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong’s legacy will be remembered with profound respect and admiration.”

The President of the Belarusian Women's Union sent the “deepest condolences and sincere encouragement to the family and friends of Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong, the Vietnamese Women's Union and all Vietnamese women.”

The Korean Women's Development Institute (KWDI) said: “We wish the Vietnam Women's Union and the Communist Party of Vietnam continue to honor the legacy of the General Secretary and break through to new heights.”

The International Fund “The Way for Peace” and the Center of the Law for Peace, Russia appreciated “the contribution of Viet Nam's Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong to the consolidation of peace and stability, the steady growth of the welfare of the Vietnamese people and the solution of important tasks of civilizational development.”

The Committee for External Relations of Saint-Petersburg, Russia wrote: “Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong is a typical personality, a wise politician and a true patriot. We highly appreciate his contributions to stability and security in the Asia-Pacific region and around the world.”

The HIWC President, Ms. Cheryl D Perkins, shared: “I am so sorry for your loss and on behalf of the Hanoi International Women’s Club, we offer sincere condolences.”

The representative of DSIK, Mr. Alexander Bunse said: “We share the grief of the Vietnamese people and are united with them in great sympathy. The legacy of this great leader will live on.”

Union Aid Abroad (APHEDA) wrote: “His legacy as a respected leader and his contributions to the advancement of the prosperity of women will be remembered and cherished by all.”
