Global Summit of Women to be held in Hanoi

The Global Summit of Women 2008 will be held in Hanoi with more than 100 countries participating from June 5-7.

Tran Thi Thuy, head of the event organising board and vice president of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry announced o­n March 20 that 1,000 delegates are registered to attend the summit.


Under the theme 'Women and Asia: Driving the global economy', the summit will look at Asian economies, the development of enterprises and doing business in Asia and micro-enterprises.


The summit also aims to link women entrepreneurs, experts and government leaders, highlighting their role in business and socio-economic operation and sharing business experiences.


It also creates opportunities for women entrepreneurs to seek business partners as well as promote outstanding women who have contributed to their nation’s economic development.


A dialogue with women entrepreneurs, a young people and business forum and a corporate women directors forum – opportunities and challenges in the Asia-Pacific region – will be included in the event.


During the event, Vietnam will organise several activities to outline its investment environment, as well as its land, culture and people.
