Cambodian Women Senate delegation visits and works with VWU

On the morning of March 26th 2014, Cambodian women Senator delegation had a meeting with the VWU during their Vietnam visit. VWU Vice President Bui Thi Hoa warmly welcomed the delegation.

At the meeting, Vice President Bui Thi Hoa shared with the delegation the situation of women in Vietnam, the VWU’s key tasks in 2012-2017 term, the VWU’s focus activities and results achieved in 2014.

The two sides also discussed about the cooperative training program between the VWU and the Cambodian Women for Peace & Development Association (CWPD) including the VWU’s 8 training courses conducted for 249 Cambodian female cadres during 2011-2012 and the future training plan.

On behalf of the delegation, Ms. Mean Som An, Chairwoman of the Cambodian Senate’s Committee forHealth, Social Affairs, War Veterans, Youth, Labor, Vocational Training and Women thanked the VWU for its hospitality and support to Cambodian women . She highly appreciated the VWU’s activities for the development of women and wished for closer cooperation between the two women’s organizations not o­nly at the central level but also at the provincial o­ne, especially along the border line between the two countries.

On this occasion, the delegation also visited the Vietnamese Women's Museum and had more insights of the role and contribution of Vietnamese women to the development of the country.
