Around 20,000 walk for poor children
Staring from August Revolution Square, in front of the Hanoi Opera Theatre, the walk attracted senior officials from the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Party Central Commission for Mass Mobilization, the Ho Chi Minh Youth Union, and Samsung.
Participants, including young emerging singers, Ha Anh Tuan, Phuong Linh, Tung Duong and Phuong Anh, walked about three kilometers from the August Revolution Square to
Miss Vietnam Mai Phuong Thuy, who was seen among the participants, said: “It was a meaningful gift for disadvantaged children”.
Je Hyoung Park, general director of Samsung Vina, who presented VND 200 million to the Ho Chi Minh Youth Union’s fund for Poor Children, said: “By organizing the walk, Samsung wants to contribute to easing the pains of children, who are victims of Agent Orange and help poor children to go to school and develop their talents.”
After the walk, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Youth Union presented scholarships, each worth VND 500,000 to poor children in Long Bien and Thanh Tri districts.
