12th Korea–Viet Nam Women’s Forum highlights women’s economic empowerment in the digital era
Delegates take part in the forum. The forum was jointly organized by the Korea Women’s Development Institute (KWDI), the Korean Women Parliamentarians Network (KWPN), and the Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU). The Vietnamese delegation was led by Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Huong, Vice President of the VWU.
Discussions highlighted the opportunities that digital transformation can create for women, while stressing the importance of ensuring early access to technology, strengthening digital skills, and supporting women’s career development. Participants also called for greater opportunities for women in leadership, entrepreneurship, and technology-related sectors, where they remain underrepresented.
Sharing Vietnam’s experience, the VWU highlighted its efforts to strengthen women’s digital skills, support women-led businesses, and expand women’s access to e-commerce, digital marketing, and artificial intelligence (AI). The VWU also emphasized the importance of partnerships with businesses, universities, and other stakeholders to help women access new technologies and economic opportunities.
The two sides identified practical areas for cooperation, including digital skills development, technology and knowledge sharing, access to finance and markets, support for women innovators and entrepreneurs, and the development of a safe and responsible digital environment.
