VWU’s President Ha Thi Nga recalled: The 13th National Women's Congress, term 2022 - 2027, was planned to take place in March 2022. At that time, although the Covid-19 pandemic was initially controlled, the situation was still very complicated and the isolation and contact restriction were the priority measures to control the epidemic. However, the vast majority of VWU’s officials, members and women wanted to organize an in-person Congress so that the women delegates nationwide could meet, exchange, share experiences and honor good models, advanced examples. In particular, this event was to evaluate the results of the women's movements and the VWU's activities over the past 5 years, at the same time, discuss, propose directions, goals, targets and tasks for the next 5 years. Therefore, while asking for direction of the Party Secretariat about the 13th National Women’s Congress, the VWU proposed to organize the Congress in person with measures to ensure safety conditions for disease prevention and control. It’s controversial among the Secretariat members at that time. However, the Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong said "We must trust in our female comrades. I see that our female comrades have prepared very carefully and thoroughly. I have full confidence that they can successfully organize the Congress in person." His words were a great encouragement and motivation for the VWU to successfully organize the 13th National Women's Congress. This also showed the mind and vision of a talented and virtuous leader.

Also according to President Ha Thi Nga, because of beinginfected by COVID-19 at that time, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong could not attend the 13th National Women's Congress, but he sent flowers to congratulate the Congress. The VWU successfully organized the in-person Congress with quality, innovation and creativity to not disappoint the General Secretary's trust.
In the context of the complicated pandemic with many difficulties in the process of preparation and organization, the 13th National Women's Congress was successful beyond the organizers’ expectations, with the in-person participation of 959 delegates. The Congress is truly a festival for women nationwide. The successful organization of the Congress created a new spirit and new development momentum for the Vietnamese women's movement, contributing to the development of a strong and prosperous country.
