On June 19, VWU President Ha Thi Nga has a meeting with H.E. Mrs. Lianys Torres Rivera – Ambassador of Republic of Cuba to Vietnam and confers the merit medal "For the development of women in Vietnam " on Ms. Nancy Coro Aguiar - Deputy Head of Cuba Mission in Vietnam. The meeting contributes to nurturing the close relationship between the women of the two countries.

On February 21, the Party Central Committee Member and VWU President Nguyen Thi Thu Ha had a meeting with Korean Ambassador to Vietnam Park Noh Wan to discuss cooperation activities to support Vietnamese brides in Korea and those who have returned to Vietnam.

On January 13, Madam Nguyen Thi Thu Ha - member of the Party Central Committee, President of the Vietnam Women's Union (VWU) - presented the Merit Medal for the Development of Vietnamese Women to Mr. Kim Jinoh - Country Director of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) in Vietnam to recognize his contribution to the equality and development of Vietnamese women.

The trip ended, but the sentiments still last in the heart of Lao women. Mrs. Vatsana Silima - President of the Women's Union of Champasak Province, said “Everywhere they come, they are gracious to share and encourage us. It is not only a gift of friendship and solidarity but also generous and beautiful hearts of women”.

On August 23, 2019, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Women's Union (VWU), the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) signed the Record of Discussions (ROD) of the project “Strengthening Vietnamese Capacity for Sustainable Reintegration of Returning Women Migrants and Their Households in Vulnerable Conditions in Vietnam” (hereinafter referred to as “the Project”).

In the afternoon of May 23, 2019 in Hanoi, the Central Vietnam Women's Union (VWU) andthe German International Cooperation Organization (GIZ) jointly organized a workshop on micro-insurance in the agricultural sector and response to climate change. The workshop was also attended by delegates from the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, representatives of local branches of the Tinh Thuong One-member Limited Liability Microfinance Institution (TYM) of the VWU.

On the morning of May 30, 2019, the Vietnam Women's Union (VWU) organized a farewell ceremony to Mr. and Mrs. Teumer - Country Representative of the German Savings Banks Foundation for International Cooperation (SBFIC) in Vietnam, a close collaborator of the VWU since 2005.

From 6 to 10 May 2019, a delegation of the Vietnam Women's Union (VWU) led by Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha - Party Central Committee member, VWU President - paid a working visit to the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) at the invitation of the Socialist Women’s Union of Korea (SWUK).

From March 27th to April 6th 2019, a delegation from the Vietnam Women's Union led by Vice President – Mme.Nguyen Thi Tuyet took part in a study visitto the United States focusing on gender equality and women’s development.

The Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU) and the Cambodian Women for Peace and Development (CWPD) organised an exchange in the Mekong Delta province of Kien Giang on February 23 to mark the 40th anniversary of the victory of Vietnam’s southwest border defence war and the fall of the genocidal Pol Pot regime.

At the invitation of the Myanmar Women’s Affairs Federation (MWAF) as the Chair of the 18th ASEAN Confederation of Women’s Organizations (ACWO), the Vietnam Women’s Union’s delegation headed by Vice President Nguyen Thi Tuyet, attended the 18th ACWO General Assembly and Conference, worked with several partners in Myanmar from November 26th – December 2nd 2018.

Hanoi (VNA) – The head of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee’s Commission on Mass Mobilisation, Truong Thi Mai, hosted a reception in Hanoi on November 1 for a visiting delegation from the Cuban Women’s Federation (FMC) led by its Secretary General Teresa Maria.

Quang Nam (VNA) – Representatives of the Women’s Unions of the central province of Quang Nam and Laos’ Sekong province held talks in Quang Nam on August 14 to discuss measures to foster cooperation in women movements.

In order to further strengthen the bilateral friendship and cooperation with partners in Argentina and Cuba, from 3rd to 15th July 2018, the VWU’s high-level delegation led by Mdm. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, member of the Party Central Committee and VWU President, had a working visit to Argentina and Cuba.

From 25 June – July 4 2018, a delegation of the Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU) headed by Vice President Bùi Thị Hòa paid a visit to Korea to attend the 6th Korea – Viet Nam Women’sForum, Women Inventors Exhibition and other activities.

On March 19, 2018 at the Vietnamese Women’s Museum, VWU’s President Nguyen Thi Thu Ha warmly received the delegation of Women's Union of Ukraine (WUU) headed by Ms. Leokadia Gerasimenko - President of the WUU, Vice-President of the Ukrainian-Vietnamese Friendship Association, Peace Ambassador during its visit to Vietnam.

Following the success of the Friendship Visit to Lao and the Vietnam-Laos-Cambodia Women’s Forum in 2017, from April 1st to 7th, 2018, the Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU) received a 34-member-delegation of the Laos Women’s Union (LWU), headed by Mdm. Inlavanh Keobounphanh, a member of the Central Committee of the Laos People’s Revolutionary Party, LWU President. The delegation consists of leaders of LWU Central Office, provincial Women’s Unions and several central agencies.

Outstanding Vietnamese and Lao women were honoured with Orders by the Vietnamese and Lao States at a ceremony in Pleiku, Gia Lai province, on April 6, in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam.

On 27 June 2017, Ms. Shoko Ishikawa, UN Women Country Representative in Viet Nam was conferred the merit medal "For the Development of Vietnamese Women" by Vietnam Women’s Union President.

On July 28, in Hanoi, VWU President Nguyen Thi Thu Ha had a meeting with Layton Pike, Chargé d'Affaires, Australian Deputy Ambassador to Vietnam to discuss some issues related to female workers and to the amended Labor Code.

Domestic Violence Prevention and Control and Supporting women in politics and economic development ... are important issues discussed during the meeting of VWU First Vice President Hoang Thi Ai Nhien and the German parliamentarians.
