On November 26, 2020, the VWU’s President Ha Thi Nga honorably conferred the Medal "For the Development of Vietnamese Women" to Mrs. Lianys Torres Rivera, Ambassador of Cuba in Vietnam.

On 24th November 2020, the Vietnam Women’s Union organized the Vietnam – U.S. Forum "Promoting women's participation in international integration” – one of the VWU’s important international activities in 2020, contributing to celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Viet Nam- U.S. relationship.

The VWU over the past 90 years has grown into a highly-prestigious organization of the Vietnamese women. In order to promote the relationship between Vietnam and Cuba in general and women of the two countries in particular, on October 8th, the VWU organized a meeting to commemorate the 60th anniversary of relations between Vietnamese and Cuban women and to talk about the relationship between the two countries. On July 3, Dr. Guido Erpo Hildner, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Vietnam visited and learned about the effectiveness of microfinance activities at Tinh Thuong One Member Limited Liabilities Microfinance Institution (TYM) under the Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU).

At the meeting with Ms. Elisa Fernadez - UN Women Representative in Viet Nam on the afternoon of June 9th, 2020, VWU President Ha Thi Nga expressed her concurrence on women and gender issues raised by UN Women Representative and admitted that they are the common concerns and key areas of further cooperation of the two organizations.

It was one of the discussion topics of the meeting between Ms. Ha Thi Nga, President of Vietnam Women's Union and Mr. Shimizu Akira, Chief Representative of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in Vietnam on June 5th.

Establishing and operating “One Stop Support Office” (OSSO) to support sustainable reintegration of repatriating women and their families is an important goal of the Project “Strengthening Vietnamese Capacity for Sustainable Reintegration of Returning Migrants Women and their Households in Vietnam” implemented by the Vietnam Women's Union (VWU) with the sponsorship of Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) through the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Vietnam.
