• Vietnam Women’s Union delegation attends 6th Korea-Vietnam Women’s Forum and KIWIE 2018 events in Korea

    From 25 June – July 4 2018, a delegation of the Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU) headed by Vice President Bùi Thị Hòa paid a visit to Korea to attend the 6th Korea – Viet Nam Women’sForum, Women Inventors Exhibition and other activities.

  • Relations between Vietnamese women and Lao women strengthened

    Following the success of the Friendship Visit to Lao and the Vietnam-Laos-Cambodia Women’s Forum in 2017, from April 1st to 7th, 2018, the Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU) received a 34-member-delegation of the Laos Women’s Union (LWU), headed by Mdm. Inlavanh Keobounphanh, a member of the Central Committee of the Laos People’s Revolutionary Party, LWU President. The delegation consists of leaders of LWU Central Office, provincial Women’s Unions and several central agencies.
  • Vietnamese, Lao Orders presented to women of both countries

    Outstanding Vietnamese and Lao women were honoured with Orders by the Vietnamese and Lao States at a ceremony in Pleiku, Gia Lai province, on April 6, in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam.

  • Working alongside the Vietnam Women's Union for gender equality and women’s development in Vietnam

    In February 2017, the Vietnam Women's Union (VWU) held ceremonies to confer the merit medal "For the Development of Vietnamese Women" and the Certificate of Merits (2012 - 2017 period) to experts and collaborators, working at the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations, the CPV Central Office, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, embassies and international organizations in Hanoi to honour their contributions to women's movement and VWU activities over the last years.
  • Mong woman preserves and promotes ethnic brocade weaving

    NDO – Learning the art of brocade weaving since the age of 13 from her mother, 1962-born artisan Vang Thi Mai has kept in mind that practicing and preserving the traditional craft is the responsibility of every Mong women. Taking on the responsibility, she established the Brocade Weaving Cooperative of Hop Tien village, Ha Giang province in 1999 with the hope of popularising one of Mong people’s cultural identities to domestic and foreign visitors.
  • Finding strategic markets for Vietnam’s handicrafts

    On 23rd February 2017, the Vietnam Women’s Union (the VWU) and Crib to Crib Colombia (CtC) signed the Memorandum of Understanding with the aim to develop clean and sustainable production and strategic markets for Vietnam’s handicrafts.

    On July 27, VWU President Nguyen Thi Thu Ha cordially received Korean Ambassador Mr. Lee Hyuk on the occasion of his new term in Vietnam.
