    From 1–3 February 2026 in Geneva, Switzerland, Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Huong, Vice President of the Viet Nam Women’s Union (VWU), participated in Viet Nam-related meetings during the 92nd session of the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW).

  • Programme empowers women in remote border areas and strengthens people based national defence

    he ‘Accompanying Women in Border Areas’ programme, launched in 2018 by the Viet Nam Women’s Union in partnership with the Border Guard High Command, has delivered practical support to women and children in remote border regions. It has spread humanitarian and compassionate values across communities, consolidated the great national unity bloc, and reinforced a strong people-based border defence.
  • Action month for gender equality and gender-based violence prevention launched

    The action month for gender equality and tackling gender-based violence runs annually from November 15 to December 15. Orange is chosen as the colour of the global campaign to end gender-based violence because it is bright and brings hope to women and children affected by violence and those working in the field.
