  • Viet Nam Women’s Union accompanies and promotes women’s political empowerment

    Throughout the country’s development process, the Viet Nam Women’s Union (VWU) has played a key role in advancing women’s political participation and leadership. Beyond encouraging women’s engagement in public life, the VWU has made notable contributions to policy advocacy, legal reform and the development of women leaders.
  • Programme empowers women in remote border areas and strengthens people based national defence

    he ‘Accompanying Women in Border Areas’ programme, launched in 2018 by the Viet Nam Women’s Union in partnership with the Border Guard High Command, has delivered practical support to women and children in remote border regions. It has spread humanitarian and compassionate values across communities, consolidated the great national unity bloc, and reinforced a strong people-based border defence.
  • Action month for gender equality and gender-based violence prevention launched

    The action month for gender equality and tackling gender-based violence runs annually from November 15 to December 15. Orange is chosen as the colour of the global campaign to end gender-based violence because it is bright and brings hope to women and children affected by violence and those working in the field.
  • The Center for Community Welfare and Diversity Officially Becomes a Member of the Domestic Advisory Group (DAG) under the EVFTA Framework

    The Center for Community Welfare and Diversity (CWD) has officially become a member of the Domestic Advisory Group (DAG) under the EU–Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA), according to Decision No. 2694/QĐ-BCT dated October 1, 2025, issued by the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
  • Project 8: Inspiring development aspirations among ethnic minority women and children

    After five years, Project 8 – Promoting Gender Equality and Addressing Urgent Issues for Women and Children has brought positive change in both awareness and action among ethnic minority women and girls.
  • Project 938: A journey supporting women in addressing emerging social issues

    Protecting and supporting women, and caring for and educating children remain key priorities of the Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU). Under Project 938 – Promoting Women’s Participation in Addressing Social Issues (2017–2027), Phase II (2022–2025) has been widely implemented and received strong public support.
  • A 15-year journey of the campaign “Building the Families of 5 Without-s & 3 Clean-s”

    Over the past 15 years, the campaign “Building the Families of 5 Without-s & 3 Clean-s” has not only helped realize 11 out of 19 national rural development criteria but also made basic changes in family and community life, then affirming the role of Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU) in attaching gender equality to sustainable development.
  • Border-area students become the core of promoting gender equality

    Founded in 2022 at A Doi Primary and Secondary School (Quang Tri Province), the “Leaders of Change” Club has become a pioneering model that equips border-area students with life skills, fosters leadership, and promotes gender equality.
  • Boosting Breast Cancer Awareness and Support for Women

    On August 26, the Vietnam Women’s Union launched a cooperation program “Raising Awareness and Strengthening Support for Women in the Prevention and Control of Breast Cancer in Vietnam”.
  • Escaping poverty through the traditional bamboo and rattan weaving craft

    In recent years, Ms. Bùi Linh Huệ (born in 1983) - a member of the Women’s Union branch in Ấm Hamlet, Văn Nghĩa Commune, Phú Thọ Province - has been recognized as an outstanding example of determination in overcoming poverty and building a better life. At the same time, she has also created jobs for many local women.
  • Vietnam Women’s Union holds nationwide training on women’s economic development

    HANOI, Aug 12 — The Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU) has organized a two-day nationwide training program on women’s economic development and entrustment operations in 2025. The event, held in person at VWU headquarters and online with more than 5,000 access points, including 34 provincial WUs and 3,321 communal WUs.
  • Gratitude and remembrance activities of the VWU at all levels

    On the occasion of the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 – July 27, 2025), the Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU) at all levels organized delegations to offer incense at war martyrs' cemeteries, visit and present gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, mothers of martyrs, families of war invalids and martyrs, and other individuals with meritorious services in provinces and cities.
  • Vietnam Women's Union shares disaster response experience with Asean delegation

    On June 25, the Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU) welcomed a delegation of 35 representatives from ASEAN countries, Timor Leste, and the ASEAN Coordinating Centre for Humanitarian Assistance (AHA Centre) to share experiences and models in supporting women and children during natural disasters.
  • Youth clubs empower children in the highlands

    Over 2,000 'Leaders of Change' clubs have been formed across Việt Nam, helping more than 120,000 children in remote areas learn leadership, teamwork and self-advocacy in environments still shaped by poverty and tradition.
  • Party leader’s spouse joins UNESCO head in celebrating gender equality through artworks

    The exhibition, organised by UNESCO Hanoi, showcased nearly 30 artworks created by students from Cao Bang, Ninh Thuan, and Vinh Long provinces as part of the “We Are Able” project, a collaborative initiative between UNESCO and Vietnam's Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) aimed at empowering ethnic minority women and girls in disadvantaged regions through comprehensive learning and development opportunities.
  • Promoting policy credit entrustment economic empowerment for women

    The Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU) has reaffirmed its vital role in entrusting policy credit alongside the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies (VBSP) and the Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Agribank), supporting women in economic development and sustainable poverty reduction.
  • Honoring 20 collectives and 80 outstanding individuals in the emulation movement of women in the people's public security forces

    On May 29 in Hanoi, the Ministry of Public Security’s Women's Union held a Festival to honor 20 groups and 80 individuals for their exceptional contributions to national security in both duty and daily life from 2020 to 2025.
  • Beautiful moments from the 13th meeting of the central executive committee of the vietnam women’s union, xiii tenure

    After two days, the 13th Meeting of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU), XIII tenure, successfully completed its entire agenda, meeting all proposed objectives. The meeting was attended by 113 out of 131 members of the Central Executive Committee, demonstrating strong responsibility, high determination, and active intellectual engagement, with many insightful contributions to the draft documents presented.
  • VWU Responds to the 2025 Action Month for Environment and World Environment Day (June 5)

    On May 28, the Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU), in collaboration with Thanh Hoa Provincial Women’s Union, held a rally in Thanh Hoa City in response to World Environment Day 2025 and the national Action Month for the Environment. This year’s theme, “Beat Plastic Pollution”, reflects a global call to address the mounting crisis of plastic waste.
  • Vietnam Women’s Union honors exemplary families practicing the “Five Nos, Three Cleans” model and outstanding Orphaned Students in Hanoi.

    On the afternoon of May 24, the Hanoi Women’s Union held a conference to commend exemplary families in the “Five Nos, Three Cleans” campaign and to honor orphans who have overcome hardship and achieved academic success during the 2021–2025 period.
