16/07/2009
Following 3 workshops on women cadres work organized by the Central Personnel Department in cooperation with the VWU’s Party Committee in March 2009, on 22 June 2009, the VWU’s Party Committee organized a workshop on counseling and implementing women cadres work for the provincial/citadel Women’s Union from northern regions in Hanoi.

Taking part in the workshop were members of the Party Committee, members of the Presidium Board, leaders of VWU’s Departments and units, Party Committee secretaries, leaders of the Personnel Department of the Women’s Unions from 32 Northern provinces and cities and representatives of some related branches and organizations.

After the opening remark of Mme. Nguyen Thi Thanh Hoa, member of the Central Party Committee, secretary of the VWU’s Party Committee, and President of the Vietnam Women’s Union reported on the counseling results of the women cadres. The Party Committee has been implementing Resolution No 11 for the past 2 yearson the work of women cadres in the country’s industrialization and modernization process. The participants discussed the role and responsibility of the VWU’s party committee at central and provincial levels for women cadres during this time. They shared experiences and difficulties in women cadres counseling, brainstormed possible reasons for the difficulties and proposed solutions for the future.

As for VWU, it is necessary to make a strategy of women cadres work. All levels of the Women’s Union should be more active and proactive in counseling and training and should be able to meet the given requirements of the country’s industrialization and modernization process. The VWU should concentrate on admitting its outstanding members to the Party by building the capacity and virtue of women cadres.

The Polite Bureau and Secretariat should put women cadres’ work, especially the women cadres’ development target, into the annual emulation criteria. It should monitor the leaders’ implementation of Resolution No 11/BCT and Gender Equality Law on women cadres as well as revise published documents with incorrect information concerning Resolution No 11/BCT and Gender Equality Law …

The workshop lasted 3 days; its main contents were women cadres’ work and organizing and monitoring the performance of the Resolution since the first half of its term. At the beginning of July, the VWU’s party committee intends to collect ideas concerning Women’s Union representatives from southern provinces and cities.
