Women’s Union in Moc Chau district, Son La province: 2007 Contest Festival for Communication on Drug and HIV/AIDS Prevention

This is an activity to enhance awareness on drug and HIV/AIDS communication and prevention, especially awareness of drug prevention by families for a community without drugs addicts for all strata of women and ethnics within the district.

 

The Contest was held in 2 days with the participation of 130 contestants from 26 communes, wards and towns. Contestants had to participate in 3 rounds, in which there was a round with questions to check contestants ’ knowledge, a round for performance of short play o­n drug and HIV/AIDS prevention. By this way, Party and State’s guidelines and legal policies o­n drug and HIV/AIDS prevention would be clearer and more understandable to the ethnic people.

 

The contest was an opportunity for WU’s cadres and members to learn and to share experiences in ethnic community mobilization for drug prevention, particularly families’ drug prevention. As a result, WU at all level would successfully implement the campaign “Say Four No to Drug”: No opium tree planting, no storage, no transportation and no trafficking of drug.

 

The contest was closed with the first prize for Muong Men commune, two second prizes, three third prizes and some incentive prizes for communes with excellent knowledge and play performance.
