VWU’s New Year care for disadvantaged women and children nationwide

In the atmosphere of approaching Vietnamese Traditional New Year (Tet), the Women's Unions at all levels have been organizing many practical and meaningful activities to care for and encourage disadvantaged women and children nationwide especially those affected by the Covid-19 epidemic.

The VWU's leaders visited and gave gifts with the message "Tet of Love" to members, women, orphans and families with meritorious services to the Revolution in a number of provinces and cities:

VWU President Ha Thi Nga visited Ms. Vo Thi Van (in My Xuyen ward, Long Xuyen city, An Giang province) who is a historical witness.

VWU President Ha Thi Nga presents Tet gifts to members, people and orphans who are facing difficulties due to the Covid-19 pandemic in Tan Hong district, Dong Thap province.

From January 21-22, Vietnam Women's Union (VWU) and the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) have distributed 3,000 essential packages worth 3 billion VND to 3,000 women migrant workers and communicated about gender-based violence in Thai Binh, Nghe An and Ho Chi Minh city.

VWU and Korea International Co-operation Agency (KOICA) provided a support package worth 193,000 USD aimed to help women, especially female workers in industrial zones in 6 North Central provinces overcome difficulties caused by the COVID-19 outbreak.

VWU also cooperated with Coca-Cola Vietnam to hand out 600 Tet gifts to disadvantaged women in 6 provinces of Quang Binh, Hoa Binh, Ha Nam, Quang Tri, Quang Ninh and Ha Tinh.

Moreover, in response to the program "Million gifts of love" and “Patron-parents” launched by the Central VWU, WUs at all levels also carried out practical and meaningful activities to bring “Tet of love” to poor women, children and orphans across the country.

Quang Tri Women's Union coordinates the program giving Tet gifts in 6 border communes of Huong Hoa district.
