Vietnam Women's Union

The delegation had a meeting with the Russia - Vietnam Friendship Association - the host organization in Russia. At the meeting, the two sides discussed the possibility of cooperation between VWU and the Association to exchange delegations, to connect VWU with women’s organizations in Russia and legal training for VWU staff.

The delegation visited the All-Russian Women’s Union “Hope of Russia”. The two sides recalled the tradition of mutual assistance between the two organizations in the past and nowadays. Particularly, the two organizations have had good cooperation in the Women’s International Democratic Federation of which both are members. The two sides affirmed to improve the information exchange and promote the cooperation in the coming time.

At the working session with the Women’s Power Union, Russia, Mrs. Elena Vtorygina, Chairwoman of the Strategic Committee of the Union proposed to promote cooperation between the two organizations through MOU signing. She also invited the VWU to attend the 2^nd Eurasian Women Forum held by the Women’s Power Union in 2018. As the Vice-Chairperson of the Duma’s Committee for Women, Family and Children, Ms. Elena shared with the delegation about the gender equality and women’s status in Russia.

The delegation also visited the Moscow Crisis Support Center for Women and Children, the Moscow Resource Center supporting families and children, the Center for Children and Families of the Central District of Moscow, First Club for Hospitality Professionals and St. Petersburg City Women's Business Club with the aim to study Russian experiences of supporting disadvantaged women and female entrepreneurs.

At all the working meetings, Mrs. Hoang Thi Ai Nhien always highly appreciated and expressed sincere gratitude to the generous help of the Russian people and women in the past and at present. She also affirmed the relationship of the people and women of the two countries "What will remain forever and never change" as said by Russia President Putin. on behalf of the VWU, Mrs. Hoang Thi Ai Nhien acknowledged the proposal of cooperation proposed by the Russian partners and expressed interest in promoting cooperation with Russian partners in the coming time.

During their stay in Russia, the delegation visited the Embassy of Vietnam, met with the Vietnamese Association in Russia and the Executive Committee of the "Liu Market" Women's Association in Moscow, to learn more about the situation of Vietnamese women in Moscow, and to share the experiences of the Women's Union in Viet Nam.
