VWU delegation attends 2015 Korea International Women's Invention Exposition (KIWIE 2015)

With the message "Women Inventors’ Network for Creative Business" and the theme "Global improvement through ideas; Driving force of startup", the Forum and Exhibition attracted approximately 250 participants from 25 countries, mostly from Asia, the rest from Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa. At the Forum, speakers from Brunei Darussalam, Chile, Iceland, Korea and Thailand shared information and experiences on the importance of intellectual property policies in fostering an innovation ecosystem for startup companies; using and managing IP as an effective tool for business success.
Attending this Exhibition, the Vietnam delegation had 2 booths including one of the Vietnam Women’s Union and one of the Vietnam Fund for Supporting Technological Creations (VIFOTEC). Out of the exhibited Vietnamese innovative products 2 products won gold award, which are household-solid waste incinerator bd-alpha of MA. Dam Thi Lan - Lecturer on Energy and Environment, University of Civil Engineering and Director of Duc Minh one-member Co., Ltd. andHamomax – a health functional food of Associate Professor. Dr. Nguyen Hoang together with specialist and researcher team of Hanoi University of Pharmacy, distributed by Tan Bach Tung Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd; and 1 product won silver award which is "Application of advanced materials in manufacturing ozone generators for community health protection" belonging to Ms. Tran Thi Lan Huong - General Director of HCT High Technology Investment and Application JSC.
At the awarding ceremony, Mme. Hoang Thi Ai Nhien conferred the VWU’s cup to the product ‘flor confiserie’ (rice cakes with bean jam decoration) of Ms. Lee Soo Jin from Korea.
On the sideline of the KIWIE 2015, the delegation had meetings with President of World Women Inventors and Entrepreneurs Association (WWIEA) and President of Korean Institute for Gender Equality Promotion and Education (KIGEPE). At the working sessions, the VWU and the Korean partners representatives share updated information about their organizations’ activities and discussed possible cooperation in the future, in such activities as the Vietnam Women's Innovation Day 2015, the establishment and operation of Gender Faculty of the Vietnam Women’s Academy (VWA), the signing of another MOU between the VWA and KIGEPE for the coming years.
