Vietnamese Bodybuilders Top Asian C’ships

The host country Viet Nam’s athletes won the Asian Bodybuilding and Fitness Championships for the first time with five golds, two silvers, and one bronze.

In the women’s bodybuilding for 52 kg, defending champion Nguyen Thi My Linh succeeded in protecting her title o­n Saturday, the last day of the two-day tournament.

Trinh Phi Hung, a man aged over 50, obtained another gold for Viet Nam in the last day. Meanwhile, Nguyen Minh Phong, Dang Thanh Tung, and Nguyen Thu Nguyen took three golds for the host country the day before.


Thailand
ranked second with three golds and three bronzes, followed by Singapore with two golds, four silvers, and two bronzes.


Ninety five bodybuilding and fitness athletes from 15 countries participated in this year’s tournament, held in Bien Hoa City, about 30 km from Ho Chi Minh City.


They competed in 18 categories in five events – junior men’s bodybuilding, master men’s bodybuilding, women’s bodybuilding, miss fitness, and miss body fitness.
