Vietnamese and Chinese localities foster tourism co-operation

17/03/2006
The Tourism Departments of the northern border province of Lao Cai and Honghe district in China’s Yunnan province have agreed to open representative offices in the other locality to promote bilateral co-operation in tourism.

Under an agreement recently signed, the two sides will also co-ordinate with relevant forces, including border guards, medical workers and customs officers, to facilitate tourists’ entry-exist procedures.

The two sides also agreed to extend the opening time of the Lao Cai-Heikou border gate to 22:00 everyday, open new tours and hold regular meetings to discuss measures to boost co-operation and eliminate difficulties in tourism management and business.
