Vietnam to host 8th annual Asia and Pacific Nation Network Meeting of International Network of Women Engineers and Scientists

Vietnam to host 8th annual Asia and Pacific Nation Network Meeting of On 9th April 2018 in Hanoi, Mdm. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, member of Party Central Committee, President of the VWU met with the delegation of the INWES – APNN to discuss the preparation and organization of the 8th annual meeting of INWES – APNN in Hanoi from 18th to 20th October 2018.

Attending the meeting, there were also VWU Vice President Mdm. Bui Thi Hoa, President of the Vietnam Association for Intellectual Women – Mdm. Pham Thi Tran Chau, and President of the Asia and Pacific Nation Network (APNN) – Mdm. Chia Li Wu.

At the meeting,Mdm. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha expressed her gratitude to the INWES – APNN for electing Vietnam to host the 8th annual meeting and also affirmed that: “ The VWU is committed to closely working together with the APNN to organize successfully the upcoming APNN conference”.

Tentatively, apart from plenary sessions to be attended by the State leaders, APNN 2018 will also have important discussion sessions. For example, there will be a session o­n “Gender and Gender Equality in Science, Engineering and Mathematics Development” where participantswill discuss gender equality in developing science, engineering and mathematics as well as exchange lessons learned, recommendations and solutions to promote gender equality in science and technology development, especially in Asia and Pacific nations in the coming time.

For“Food Safety and Nutrition in Modern Life” session, the participants will examine the food safety and nutrition in several countries in Asia – Pacific region, challenges/problems and difficulties as well as solutions to some urgent issues and lessons learned from the practice.

The session o­n “Climate Change and Environmental Protection” will be an opportunity for countries to talk about the impacts of climate change and environmental degradation o­n people and solutions.
