USAID Helps Build Bus Routes for the Handicapped

29/01/2007
The US Agency for International Development (USAID) has announced it will donate US$40,000 to the Vietnamese Ministry of Transport to assist in the development of three bus routes for disabled people in Ho Chi Minh City.

The project aims to hold training sessions for employees of the Transport Ministry and the HCMC Department of Traffic and Public Works (including bus drivers), upgrade bus stations and survey feasible routes.

Some buses will also be fitted with special equipment to assist passengers with special needs.

USAID has dispensed over US$43 million to the handicapped in Viet Nam over the past three years.
