TV series spotlights inspirational women

Audiences around the country will have a better understanding of the philosophy "living is sharing" after listening to stories about inspirational women on the show Vuot Len So Phan (Winning Destiny), a new programme to be aired every Monday on VTV9 next week.

The 15-minute programme features 52 stories portraying ordinary but special women and children who have overcome obstacles to achieve personal and professional goals.

Their stories and lives will inspire others, according to the producers.

Vuot Len So Phan was designed to attract young audiences, particularly urban youth, many of whom have a narrow-minded view of the world and people, and often lose a sense of perspective about life.

"Many people in the audience think they have accomplished many things in life and business," Vo Dac Danh, a member of the show’s producer, says.

"But after watching our show, they will recognise that they are small compared to the show’s participants," he says. "Watching the show’s stories, we hope audiences understand that there are many women and children living in poor conditions and facing unbelievable challenges."

"They will also understand that they will receive much more if they open up their hearts and minds," he added.

The highlight of Vuot Len So Phan is Me Oi (Hey, Mom), focusing on the sisters Nguyen Khanh Linh and Nguyen Vu Linh, who are orphaned and live with their grandparents in Vinh Long Province’s Long Ho Town.

The story features the typical life of many orphaned children, some of them teenagers, who must deal with serious challenges at work and in their personal lives.

The audience will have difficulty in imagining how the children are able to handle both study and family duties while they are often hungry.

One of the orphaned children, Khanh Linh, says when she feels defeated, love will keep her alive. Her dream is to become a teacher. "I want to earn money to support my grandparents and younger sister," she says.

Khoi Nguyen, the show’s director, said many sponsors helped support the programme.
