With the objective of improving communication skills for women’s union’s cadres in prevention of prostitution, the participants provided information about the prostitution situation, trafficking in women and children, sexual abuse in general, and in Thai Binh province particularly. The training touched on current prevention methods as well. The participants also role-played and learned about communication skills, organized club activities, had group discussions, consulted, and paid family visits to name a few. At the training, the participants had access to research materials on related contents including ‘Handbook on communication of prostitution prevention’.
After this training, the participants will use their knowledge to organize activities of prostitution prevention in the localities. In June 2009, Thai Binh Provincial Women’s Union will organize an exchange of a club of typical women with regards to the prevention of crime and social evils in response to Drug Prevention Day on 16 June.
