Training and Experience Sharing Workshop on Promoting Women Entrepreneurship
The workshop attracted the participation of more than 60 representatives of Women’s Unions and a management team of women entrepreneurs (WE) clubs from 22 northern provinces/cities.
At the workshop, the participants were introduced to basic theory on Business Development Services (BDS) and shared their practical experiences on promoting women entrepreneurship.The Project is supporting policy advocacy, management training, business counseling, access to credit, market-information-technology, WE network development, social supporting services… In addition, the participants also listened to an evaluation report of training of trainers (ToT) activities organized at the Central Women’s Cadres Training School in Hanoi and its affiliate in Ho Chi Minh City for the period of 2002 – 2009 and contributed their ideas for improving ToT curriculum as well as for the establishment of BDS network in the near future.
The participants were then provided with updated information about the economic context of Vietnam in 2009, business culture and business counseling which are truly useful for the women’s unions’ staff in charge of promoting women entrepreneurship and for the members of WE clubs’ management team in the localities.
This workshop also provided opportunities for the participants to establish a network to link their businesses.
