05/10/2006
Thuy Dung, the women’s tennis champion at the recent National Sport Games, has agreed to represent Vietnam at the 15th Asian Games (Asiad) in Qatar later this year.

After winning the championship at the National Sport Games, Dung decided to follow a career as a freelance tennis player. However, she will still join with overseas Vietnamese tennis player Ngo Viet Ha to be Vietnam’s two representatives competing in the women’s tennis division at the regional games.

The committee also announced the two male tennis players, Minh Quan and Quoc Khanh, playing for Vietnam at the games.

In order to prepare for the competition, the two Vietnamese male tennis players will attend two international tournaments in Sri Lanka while the Vietnamese women’s tennis team will participate in an international competition in the Philippines.

Currently the two teams are training at the National Sports Training Centre No.2.
