The Vietnam Women’s Union sent its message of condolences to the women in China

We are extremely shocked and deeply touched by the news that o­n 12^th May, the earthquake in South West China, particularly in Si Chuan has caused the great losses o­n people and property to the Chinese people. The earthquake has made tens thousands people dead and missing, hundreds of thousands people injured and lost their houses, of whom many are women and children. The disaster has also caused traffic and communication stagnation in Si Chuan and the surrounding areas, strongly affected to the lives of the local people.

Through the mass media, the Vietnamese women are deeply shocked to see the enormous damages caused by the earthquake, especially mothers losing their children, boys and girls losing their parents etc… This is the great pain and losses, not o­nly to the people in the affected areas, but also to all people in China.

On behalf of the Vietnamese women, we would like to extend our most profound condolences to the people in Si Chuan province and the families of the victims.

We highly appreciate the great and prompt actions taken by the Chinese Party,Government and people in rescuing and addressing the heavy consequences caused by the recent earthquake. We do believe that under the leadership of the Party and the Government of China, the mutual assistance among the Chinese people as well as the assistance from the international communities, the Chinese people will soon overcome the consequences and soon stabilize the people’s life.
