The high-ranking delegation of Vietnam Women’s Union paid a visit to Laos.
On July 13th, the high-ranking delegation of Vietnam Women’s Union, led by Madame Nguyen Thi Thanh Hoa, member of the Vietnam Central Communist Party Committee, President of Vietnam Women’s Union, paid a visit to Lao People’s Democratic Republic.
According to the VNA’s reporter in Vientiane, Madame Sisay Leudetmounsone, member of the Laos Central Communist Party Committee, President of Laos Women’s Union warmly received the Vietnamese Delegation at the headquarter of Laos Women's Union. The two sides highlighted some main activities of the women’s movement in each country and exchanged the information about the preparation for the next National Women’s Congress.
Especially, the two sides focused on sharing the experiences on women’s activities at different local levels in terms of poverty alleviation, combating against trafficking in women and children across the borders, building Affection houses, operation of TYM model of VWU, credits for the poor women to develop their household economy and production ect. The two sides committed to enhance the mutual cooperation at the central level as well as at the appropriate local levels, in different fields including information exchange and human resources development.
