Supporting unfortunate families with more than VND 400 million
Participating members pay a monthly contribution of VND 1,000 with the promise to be supported by VND 1 million if being ill and staying in hospital; VND 3 million if unfortunately passing away; and VND 1 million if their spouses or children die. In addition to this, members, with their fee of 0.4% of loan per year, will be supported 100% of the loan for their misfortune.
The case of Mrs. Tran Thi Hien in Coc Ngang hamlet, Ngu Lao commune, Kim Dong district, Hai Duong province is one typical example. She is a member of TYM Fund and is involved in the Mutual Assistance Fund having contributed VND 106,000. In February, 2009 she accidentally passed away. Her family was supported VND 20,750,000 to cover the loan and burial.
This new product package is seen as an intervention to increase the support level for unfortunate households and to improve the mutual aid among women. TYM members in 100% TYM operation sites welcome and participate in the Mutual Assistance Fund.
