Sharing difficulties by "The porridge pot of affection"
Over the past four years, regardless of rain or shine, at about 7pm every day, Ms. Trinh Thi Thu Kim,Lam Loc Nam village, Tinh Ha commune, stops her housework to join the club “The porridge pot of affection” to prepare ingredients such as vegetables, fruits and legumes forcharitable porridge which will be served early next morning. Ms. Trinh Thi Thu Kim said: "I am really happy to participate in this club. I think it is very meaningful to display our affection to people in sickness, thus we are very eager for the day of cooking charitable porridge. We happily gather and work so that the porridge could be distributed to each patient in the following morning."
Every 8th and 18th of the month in the lunar calendar, the club members transport pots of hot porridge to the Traditional Medicine Hospital, Tuberculosis and Lung Hospital, Mental Hospital, General Hospital of Son Tinh district and distribute porridge to patients there. The bowls of porridge not only is a financial support for poor patients but also warms up their hearts when they feel the affection from the society.
Mr. Nguyen Di in Tinh Tho commune, Son Tinh district, 82 years old, who has high blood pressure and should have regular treatment at the General Hospital of Son Tinh district expressed his emotion: "In difficulties, especially when being sick, I feel very happy and warm receiving these full-of-affection porridge bowls."
Since its establishment in 2010, the club "The porridge pot of affection" of Tinh Ha commune has had 30 woman members and volunteers.
