Seminar on the occasion of the 75th Anniversary of the Vietnam Women’s Union

On 8 October, the Vietnam Women’s Union organized a seminar on the occasion of the Union’s 75th Anniversary.

Attending the seminar were Mr. Pham The Duyet, former member of the Political Bureau, President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland’s Front; Mme. Nguyen Thi Xuan My, former member of the Political Bureau, President of the Vietnam Association for Protection of the Disabled; Mme Nguyen Thi Hoai Thu, member of the Party Central Committee, Chairwoman of the Social Affairs Committee of the National Assembly and others leaders from various central ministries, sectors and mass organizations.

 

For the VWU’s side, there were Mme. Ha Thi Khiet, member of the Party Central Committee, VWU President, NCFAW Chairwoman; VWU vice-presidents, Presidium members and leaders from different departments of VWU head office.

 

At the seminar, Mme Ha Thi Khiet briefed the VWU development process in the past 75 years and its recent achievements and proposed participants to make comments o­n how to renovate the Union’s operation contents and formality in the national industrialization - modernization period.

 

Mr. Pham The Duyet, former member of the Political Bureau, President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland’s Front, in his remark appreciated the role played by the Vietnamese women through various revolutionary periods including the renovation period. He also emphasized a number of key issues that deserve attention and solutions by the Women’s Union at all levels in the near future.


At the seminar, leaders from central ministries, sectors and mass organizations highly appreciated VWU’s role in all fields. They also proposed the Party and the State to pay more attention to the VWU and women cadres issues so as more and more women can take key leadership positions in return to the trust by the Party, the State and the people.
