Review on 3 years implementing entrusted loans for poor households
After 3 years implementing entrusted loans for poor households as signed between VWU and Social Policy Bank (SPB) in Bac Kan in 2003 – 2006 period, the total amount of all kinds of entrusted loans managed by provincial WU at all levels is over 122 billion VND, providing for 21,758 WU’s members.
The total loan portfolio of SPB’s entrusted loan is over 108 billion VND (accounting for 88.75%) providing for 16,654 members in1,374 women’s credit groups; Beside, WU’s members have been motivated to save through groups with almost 800 millionVND which have been lent out to over 500 members in need.
To support WU’s members and women to used loans effectively, WU at all levels in Bac Kan has organized 393 training courses in coordination with Provincial Extension Center for 20,683 women on technical sciences; 432 training classes in coordination with Bac Kan SPB on preparing loan proposals, loans management skills in tune with the WU’s tasks and functions for 7,292 heads of women’s credit groups and WU carders./.
