Review Conference of 3-year disbursement of entrusted loans for poor households in Quang Ninh

 After 3 year cooperation o­n providing entrusted loan services between Quang Ninh WU and Social Policy Bank, the total amount of entrusted loans of VWU accounted for the main share (over 50%) in total loan disbursement of Social Policy Bank. In 2006, the entrusted loans for poor households disbursed by VWU were 90,465 million VND. Total loan portfolio in the province managed by WU next year got higher than last year (56,434 million VND in 2004 against 155,183 million VND in 2006). 80% poor women-headed households were provided loans.

Addressing at the Conference, VWU’s Standing Vice President Truong Thi Khue acknowledged and praised efforts of Quang Ninh Women’s Union at all levels in providing guidance anddisbursing entrusted loans for poor households thus confirming VWU’s prestige to SPB, bringing practical interests to WU’s poor members, increasing membership, improving staff’s capacity, contributing to the strong organizational development of the WU. Besides, Mme Khue also reminded Quang Ninh WU at all levels to implement the commitment jointly signed between VWU and SPB, promoting monitor work, training skills for members, securing loans and preserving VWU’s prestige.

In 2007, Quang Ninh WU at all levels are focusing o­n collecting bad loans, increasing entrusted loan portfolio, improving quality of micro-credit, maintaining rate of overdue loans under 0.9%; consolidating and enhancing quality of micro-credit groups, attracting more poor women headed households, enhancing management and monitor work for the security of loans, integrating loans provision with science and technology transfer.
