The first female governor

This title belongs to the two Sisters of Trung Trac and Trung Nhi. In the Spring of 40, Trung Sisters led the struggle, ousting Chinese governor, To Dinh and overthrowing the Dong Han Dynasty's ruling yoke. They proclaimed themselves governor and reigned for 3 years.

 

The o­nly queen in the history of Vietnam

 

Ly Chieu Hoang ( also named Phat Kim and Chieu Thanh) is the o­nly queen in the Vietnamese history. In Nov of 1224, she was ceded the throne by her father, King Ly Hue Tong. She reigned with the date Thien Chuong Huu Dao. In Jan of 1226, she abdicated in favor of her husband, Tran Canh, leading to the foundation of Tran Dynasty.

 

The first female communist fighter of Vietnam

 

Nguyen Thi Minh Khai was the pioneer in the Vietnam Communist movement in the 20th century. She was born in 1910 in Vinh ( Nghe An Province). In 1927, she joined Tan Viet Revolutionary Party. In 1929, she left her family to join the revolution in China. In 1935, she studied in Phuong Dong University in Russia. Along with Le Hong Phong, she was an official representative from Dong Duong Communist Party participating in the VIIth Congress of CommunistInternational (Comintern). After going back to Vietnam in 1937, she was arrested by the French Colonialists in 1940 and sentenced to death in May of 1941.

 

The first heroin of Vietnamese People’s Army

 

Nguyen Thi Chien, who was born in 1930 founded and managed TanThuat female guerrilla group during the Resistance War against the French Colonialists. With many effective and brave actions in which the most famous o­ne is the successful fighting with bared – hands. She was awarded with various kinds of medals and decorations. In 1952, she was nominated for the first heroin of the Vietnamese People’s Army.

 

The best female intelligence agent

 

This title belongs to Colonel, Heroin of the People’s Army

Dinh Thi Van who had made great contribution to the foundation and management of the intelligence network in Sai Gon during our Anti - American Resistence War. In 1954, she was sent to the South of Vietnam as a special envoy by the Ministry of National Defence. Being an intelligent, brisk and faithful agent, she built a sound intelligence network, providing timely the Central Party with information about raids to be then carried out by the American Army and their puppets against the of the Liberation Army nerve – center in the South East. Her network efficiently served the Liberation Army’s Operating and Attacking Schemes from 1968 till the liberation of the South of Vietnam.

 

The Youngest Heroin of the Armed Forces

 

Ms. Vo Thi Sau (1933 – 1952) deserved this title. At the age of 15, she enthusiastically joined the Revolution, achieving many resounding successes. In May of 1950, although being arrested and cruelly tortured by the French Colonialists, she still upheld her revolutionary spirit. In 1952, she was exiled to Con Dao and was executed there. In 1993, the Socialist Republic of Vietnam had honored her with Victory Medal – First class and the Title of Heroin of the Armed Forces.
