Promoting cooperation in child care and education

VWU President Nguyen Thi Thu Ha highly appreciated the PI’s effective cooperation and assistance to the VWU in childcare, especially the 2013-2016 Parent Education Program aiming at improving knowledge for ethnic minority parents in educating 0-8 year-old children. The VWU hoped to continue receiving further cooperation and assistance from the PI in child protection, life skills training for young girls to avoid the risk of child abuse as well as in gender mainstreaming in school curriculum and textbook.

In response to the VWU President’s proposed ideas, Ms. Sharon Kane said, the PI shared the same concerns with the VWU about gender issue with a view of creating condition for children to access educational opportunities, development and the right to make decisions.
