Prime Minister calls for a boost in foreign-related activities

The Prime Minister has asked the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Trade, and Planning and Investment to push up foreign-related activities in 2007

The Prime Minister has asked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to cooperate with relevant agencies to prepare for the 35th anniversary of Vietnam-Japan diplomatic ties, and the visit to Japan by the State President at the end of the year.


The Government leader has requested the Ministry of Trade to boost negotiations o­n the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) with Japan. He has also urged the Ministries of Planning and Investment, Industry, Culture and Information, Natural Resources and Environment, Science and Technology to implement the agreements reached at the first meeting of the Vietnam-Japan Joint Committee.


Under the Ministry of Finance’s proposal o­n the exemption of income tax for foreign experts working at non-governmental organizations in Vietnam, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Sinh Hung has asked the Ministry of Finance to review regulations to solve the issue properly and persuasively.


According to a proposal from the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the Prime Minister o­n June 8 agreed with the Vietnam Women’s Union to begin the project “Supporting International Marriage” funded by the Cultural Centre of Vietnamese Women in the Republic of Korea. The 2.3-million won project will be implemented within five years.


The Prime Minister has directed the Vietnam Women’s Union to implement the project in line with regulations o­n the management and usage of non-governmental aid.
