PM calls for more attention to family planning

Spotlighting a surge in the number of women having a third child since the beginning of the year, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has asked the entire government system to implement population and family planning policies.

He made the request at a conference o­n population and family planning in the second half of the year held in Hanoi o­n July 18, stating the Government always regards population and family planning as a key responsibility of the state.

 

The PM said they are o­ne of the important solutions in the country’s socio-economic development strategy and a primary solution for raising the living standard of each person, family and broader society.

 

He demanded administrations at all levels reinforce leadership and instructions o­n the matter, including running communication and education campaigns, to better implement population and family planning measures.

 

The Government leader also mentioned revisions to the decree o­n population and making the law o­n population relevant to fulfilling population goals.
