A painting competition for Hungarian children has been launched as part of activities held by the Vietnam Women Association in Hungary to further promote Vietnam and the Vietnamese community for Hungarian people who have little information about the country’s current development.

A national painting contest for Hungarian children and young students was launched in early February in Hungary by the Vietnam Women Association in Hungary, to welcome the traditional Lunar New Year Festival (Tet).

Under the theme “Vietnam today in children’s eyes”, the painting contest is for children from five to eight years old and students from 9-12. The winners will be awarded a summer vocation at Fried Castle Hotel.

Phan Bich Thien, president of the association, said the contest aims to further promote Vietnam and the Vietnamese community for Hungarian people who have little information about the country’s current development. Such activity will help community organizations integrate into the Hungarian society, as well as helping Vietnamese people living in the country better develop, Ms Thien said.

The contest will be closed on March 31 and the awards ceremony will be held on the occasion of the country’s unification day (April 30).
