Offering Medals for leaders of Federation of Cuban Women

In the afternoon 18th April, at La Havana Capital, Mme. Truong Thi Khue, Vice President of the Vietnam Women’s Union conferred VWU’s Medals “For the Advancement of Women in Vietnam” on Mme. Melba Hernandez, Former President of the Cuba - Vietnam Friendship Association (CVFA); Mme. Vilma Espín, President of Federation of the Cuban Women (FMC) and Mme. Yolanda Ferrer, the General Secretary of FMC, President of the Cuba – Vietnam Friendship Association.

These women have made great contributions for the cause of equality and advancement of women in Vietnam, as well as the development of solidarity and friendship between the women and people in Cuba and Vietnam.

Mme. Truong Thi Khue praised the close sentiment preserved by the women and people in Cuba for Vietnam. She also emphasized the responsibility of every people in Vietnam and Cuba nowadays to do his/her best to preserve and further strengthen the faithful solidarity and friendship between the two countries.

During the visit in Cuba from 15-18/4, the delegation of Vietnam Women’s Union has been welcomed received by Mr. Oscar Martinez, Deputy Head of the External Relations Commission of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and Mr. Enrique Román, Vice President of the Cuban Institute of Friendships with the Peoples.
