Nearly 3 billion VND raised as loans for women to develop traditional village production

Phu Yen Women’s Union has implemented 7 projects to develop traditional village production in order to create conditions for members and women to increase income, develop household economy in districts of Tuy An, Song Cau, Phu Hoa and Tuy Hoa city.

Through the provincial Women’s Union, 181 women have borrowed more than 2.9 billion VND from National Funds for Job Creation to develop the local traditional products. Under the plan, a total loan of 500 million VND has been allocated to 32 households in Phu Lam ward (Tuy Hoa city) for growing vegetables and flowers of all kinds; 500 million VND for 31 households in Hoa An ward (Phu Hoa) to make rice paper; 840 million VND for 42 households in An Ninh Tay (Tuy An district) for fishing net weaving and rice paper making; 30 households in An Cu commune (Tuy An) have borrowed 300 million VND for planting sedge and making sedge mat; 26 households in Xuan Binh (Song Cau) borrowed 300 million VND to produce salt; 25 households in Xuan Tho 2 (Song Cau ) borrowed 500 million VND to develop fish sauce processing.

 

On average, each household has borrowed 10-20 million VND depending o­n the production scale. Loans was disbursed at the end of July.
