Mme. Ha Thi Khiet, Member of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Public Relations Department, and President of the Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU), works with the Social Policy Bank.

At the working session, Mr. Ha Dan Huan briefly reported o­n the results of the Social Policy Bank’s activities and demonstrated the success of the management model and the method of entrusting socio-political organizations, especially VWU. At the same time, he presented several emerging difficulties and challenges while implementing this model and he proposed course of action in the coming period.

The coordination between the Social Policy Bank and VWU not o­nly helps the bank save two-thirds of its management fees and creates favorable conditions for poor households and other policy beneficiaries to easily access capital sources, but it also plays an important role in assisting VWU in mastering local situations; attracting new members; developing economic management skills for VWU’s cadres; encouraging VWU’s members to implement the guidelines, policies and laws of the Party and State, etc.

Mme. Ha Thi Khiet expressed deep appreciation for the bank’s efforts as well as the great practical effects from the model of cooperation in providing loans for poor households of the VWU and the Social Policy Bank. She emphasized that the coordination between the VWU and the Social Policy Bank in the last few years has given a humanistic meaning to helping the poor, especially poor women, escape from poverty. She promised that in her new position she would continue to encourage organizations and unions to coordinate closely with the Social Policy Bank in order to successfully implement poverty reduction and other social policies for the poor. o­n the occasion of National Day, she sent congratulations to all leaders and cadres of the bank.
