Meeting held to honor heroines and outstanding women

On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s call for patriotic emulation (11/6/1948 – 11/6/2018), the Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU) held a meeting to honor heroines and outstanding women nationwide at the Center for Women and Development on the afternoon of 2 June.

Attending the meeting, are the leaders, former leaders of the Party, State, and leaders of ministries, sectors; leaders of the VWU over the periods and 124 women delegates, who are heroines of People’s Armed Forces, Labour Heroines, and outstanding women in the patriotic emulation movements. Mdm. Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh, member of the Central Party Committee, Vice President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, first Vice President of the Central Emulation and Rewards Council also attended the meeting.

Speaking at the meeting, Mdm. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, President of the VWU, appreciated the generous contributions of women at different levels o­n all fronts and sectors after 70 years implementing President Ho Chi Minh’s call for patriotic emulation. In the period of industrialization and modernization, women of all levels have been continuing to promote the tradition of patriotism, solidarity, self-reliance, dynamism, creativity, intellect, courage to overcome difficulties and challenges and become faithful and resourceful women, female leaders, scientists, physicians, teachers, artisans and outstanding artists in many fields.

She stressed that outstanding women today would continue to be role models to inspire and motivate young people as well as be the core of women’s movements in the coming time.

At the meeting, the delegates reviewed the arduous-but-glorious memories of the legendary “long hair” army force with the movement of “three responsibilities”, “Five goods”; and shared their dreams, aspirations as well as lessons learnt to spread the passion and dedication to younger generations in patriotic emulation movements.
