LAO’S WOMEN’S UNION VISITS TYM TO LEARN ABOUT OUR MODEL
In the afternoon of October 13, 2017, the Lao’s Women's Union (LWU) paid a visit to TYM as part of the Lao’s Women's Unions 2017 Training Course.
The delegation consisted of 15 leaders from the LWU and Ministrieswho are attending the 2 month training course in Vietnam. As TYM is a typical microfinance model of the Vietnam Women's Union, the LWU asked TYM to share its experiences to support women achieve sustainable economic development. In this meeting, TYM shared the contribution of TYM to achieving the goal of sustainable development with three main themes: poverty reduction, empowerment and opportunities for women; assuring social security, building a positive life and promoting learning opportunities and gender equality. In addition, TYM also shared lessons learned during its 25 years .
The Lao Women's Union was deeply impressed by TYM’s enthusiasm. The delegation hopes that the lessons learned from TYM today will help them to support women in sustainable economic development in the future.
