Koreans run charitable program in VN

On April 24 – 30, Korean Television KBS, LG Company, and the Korean Fund for Social Activities will inaugurate ‘Love Request”, a charitable program for children in Ho Chi Minh City.

The delegation sponsors cosmetic surgery for children who have malformations of the face at Vietnam Hospital for Children o­n April 26. They will sponsor treatment for 25 children suffering cataracts at the VietnamRoK Hospital and also fund operations at the National Hospital for Children.

On April 28, the delegation is to visit and present medicines for children at the RoK Kindergarten at Tan Binh District. Movie actor Ko Too Sim will visit the family of Jung Sung Gyu, son of a Korean-Vietnamese couple, whose father died in an accident two years ago. Jung Sung Gyu’s has been deafened by noise in his mother’s factory. Doctors of the delegation operate to restore his hearing o­n April 26.


With help from Samsung Company, the delegation will build wells to provide clean water for people in several areas of the city. The completion ceremony will be held o­n April 29. Movie actor Ko Too Shim will joint the event.


Together, Korean Fund for Social Activities Kim Seok San will present 300 scholarships to poor students. The program will be broadcasted at Republic of Korea (RoK)’s Day for Children May 6.
