Hoa Binh Provincial Women’s Union delivered 250 wheelchairs donated by LDSC to the disabled

In the morning of March 6th 2008, with the support of the Central Vietnam Women’s Union, Hoa Binh Provincial Women’s Union organized a ceremony to hand over 250 wheelchairs donated by the Latter-day Saint Charities (LDSC) to the local recipients

Attending the ceremony were representative of LDSC, Mr. John Haymore - LDSC Country Director for Vietnam and his spouse Mrs. Bonnie Haymore; representative of related agencies including Hoa Binh People’s Committee, Hoa Binh City People’s Committeeand Hoa Binh Women’s Union as well as representative of Vietnam Women’s Union.


At the ceremony, o­ne of the disabled, o­n behalf of the recipients, thanked the Vietnam Women’s Union, the Hoa Binh Provincial People’s Committee and Women’s Union and especially the LDSC for their practical and humanitarian supports. With the wheelchairs, the dream of integrating to the outside world of many disabled becomes true.


Through the Vietnam Women’s Union, the Wheelchairs Program of Latter Day Saint - Charities in Hanoi has donated 1,975 pieces with the total value of 100,000 USD to the disabled in Vietnam in the 2 provinces of Phu Tho and Thai Binh. This is the first time the Hoa Binh Provincial Women’s Union received wheelchairs sponsored by LDSC. In addition, last year, the LDSC donated 20,000 USD for Clean Water Project in Truong Son Commune, Luong Son District, Hoa Binh province./.
